32. The Queen’s Jardine Star Brooch
This eight-pointed diamond star brooch was bequeathed to the Queen in 1981 by Lady Jardine.[1] It consists of eight pointed bars pavé-set with diamond brilliants, in between which are eight diamond collets set on knife-wire, with a large brilliant in the centre, surrounded by a cluster of eight small diamonds. It is of a style and design hugely popular through the whole of the nineteenth century.
This brooch is worn often by The Queen, notably to the Thames River Pageant, to celebrate The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012.
