TBF-QM-52 Queen Mary’s Wedding Gift Pearl and Diamond Ring

52. Queen Mary’s Wedding Gift Pearl and Diamond Ring

In 1893, Queen Mary received a diamond and pearl ring as a wedding present from her brothers the Princes Adolphus, Francis and Alexander of Teck. It was exhibited amongst the other wedding presents at the Imperial Institute and illustrated in The Graphic.[1]

Field describes this ring as being “set with a single pearl and a brilliant-cut diamond and with diamond shoulders”; Field in turn argues that this ring was bequeathed to The Queen upon Queen Mary’s death in 1953.[2]
