93. The Queen’s Sapphire Bumblebee Brooch
The origins of this brooch are unknown. It is described simply by Field as “a cabochon sapphire bumblebee with diamond wings”.[1] However, although no more information on provenance is given, it is likely that this is one of the few insect brooches that the Queen owned as a little girl.
The Queen has never been pictured wearing this brooch in public.
