Ring of Queen Consort

Made for the coronation of William IV and Queen Adelaide in 1831.
" Since the coronation of Edward VII all queens consort have used Queen Adelaide's ring at their coronations. "

This ring was made for Queen Adelaide who kept it with her late husband William IV's coronation ring until her death in 1849.
She bequeathed both to Queen Victoria who left them and her own coronation ring to the Crown in 1901.
In 1919 George V had the three rings deposited with other regalia in the Tower.
